It didn't feel like Christmas this year
And I’m trying to figure out why
I couldn’t muster up holiday joy
As the season of cheer passed by
While others enjoyed their holiday traditions
I just stayed in bed
I couldn’t get myself to do
The things I wish I’d done instead
I didn’t decorate a single tree
When last year I decorated four
I barely put up any decorations
It just felt like such a chore
Sure I watched some Christmas movies
And they summoned a few laughs
But the joy I used to get from them
Seemed resigned to the past
And while some people wish for holidays
to come and go with haste
That’s not what I’m saying I felt
Christmas just felt erased
It came and went before I knew
And I don’t quite know the reason
But I miss the way I used to feel
When Christmas was my favorite season
I knew it was December
And that the holidays were here
But for whatever hidden reason
It didn’t feel like Christmas this year
